...that teaches the WHOLE historic Christian tradition, entire and undistorted?
...that has the most beautiful worship in Christendom?
...that never compromises the commands of Jesus Christ,
but always has mercy for those who fall and struggle?
Dear Saint Catherine Orthodox Church Community,
If you have not read Archbishop Alexander's directive concerning the COVID-19 virus,
please read it here: COVID 19 Guidance for the Clergy and Faithful of the Diocese of the South.
As per Archbishop Alexander’s directive St Catherine Orthodox will only conduct services with Fr Alexis and the few people needed to assist him to carry out the service. There will still be prayer in our Church! But for the sake of not spreading the virus all others are asked to stay home and “attend" online services via live stream.
You can access online services here http://www.orthodoxmonasteryellwoodcity.org/chapel

Please keep our clergy, lay leaders and those working in the medical field in your prayers!
Dear Faithful in Christ,
We have been given guidance from our Archbishop concerning services in the Diocese of the South. These temporary measures have been put in place during this time in which COVID-19 is spreading across the USA and there is an attempt to slow this spread down. I ask that you please read and reread the guidelines and be vigilant in upholding them with the upmost faithfulness and respect due to our Hierarch. To view the latest guidelines.
In short, our services will continue, but with two adjustments:
1) We will primarily be listing Sunday Divine Liturgy in our schedule. Please check our schedule. All other services/events/gatherings/classes/etc. have been temporarily suspended.
2) All services offered will be attended by a handful of faithful limited to the Priest, a server, two choir members, and a greeter. Everyone else is asked to stay home from services.
While this means attendance at our services will be down to three or four people, I will continue to offer them; the services are not cancelled, the Church will still be praying!
Please be mindful and careful in the manner of your speech and conduct, especially with our Church and clergy. I ask that you especially keep clergy and those working in the medical field in your prayers.
If you have any thoughts, questions, or concerns, do not hesitate to call, text, or email me.

The Mission of The Orthodox Church in America,
the local autocephalous Orthodox Christian Church, is to be faithful in fulfilling the commandment of Christ to “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”
The OCA, Diocese of the South was established in 1979 under the auspices of our national Church, the Orthodox Church in America (which, itself, received it's autocephaly - or self-rule - from our mother church, in Russia). Founded upon principles of evangelization and outreach by our beloved founding bishop, Archbishop Dmitri Royster, our diocese boasts 80+ parishes and missions as well as multiple monasteries. The territory of the diocese stretches from Florida and Virginia in the east all the way to New Mexico in the west.
On October 28, 2017 A faithful group of area Orthodox Christians met to discuss establishing an Orthodox Mission in Columbus, Mississippi.
On February 22, 2018, Archbishop Alexander, Archbishop of Dallas and the South, officially gave his blessing for a Mission of the OCA to be planted in Columbus, Mississippi. For more on the history of St Catherine Orthodox Church visit the link below to our timeline in photos . . .
